Located 90 minutes north of Edmonton, ATHABASCA COUNTRY is ideal to come for a day or you can visit several golf courses over a weekend. With more then 300 lake and riverside campsites in the region you can find a great beach and get some fishing in too. If camping isn’t your thing, then there will be the right hotel, cabin or bed & breakfast for your tastes. Be sure to take in some of the exciting events taking place throughout the summer. If you can only stop for a short time we suggest visiting the signage on the historic riverfront where you can learn about our exciting past.

One of the top courses in Alberta, the Athabasca Golf and Country Club is located only 90 minutes north of Edmonton and 3 hours south of Fort McMurray. The course offers an exceptional golf experience for the high handicapper right down to the scratch golfer. From its’ signature Par 3; third hole – an island green surrounded by a meandering creek to the finishing dogleg 18, you’ll enjoy the natural landscape of the Athabasca River Valley. A well stocked pro shop with cart and club rentals, driving range and putting greens are all available. Enjoy the view from the patio while you sample the fine food and beverages available from the ‘Fox Den Restaurant’. Open May to October, sunrise to sunset. The Fox Den Restaurant is open during the golf season.
